Rest for the Weary Sermon Image_Web Text

Jesus’ call to rest involves activity on our part. First, we must come to him. But second, he asks us to put on his yoke, which is easy and light. Why is that? Because Jesus already did all of the lifting we need to do. He lived a perfect life in our place and he died a cruel death, also in our place. So when we put on his yoke, we are actually appropriating his perfect record for ourselves. We don’t have to work for acceptance with God. We get Jesus’ yoke; the one that says “It is finished!!”

Hallelujah! What a Savior!
