Sports are full of examples of teams that include both star players who have been recruited and walk-ons who are often seemingly not as desirable. It’s easy to think of our place as one of Jesus’ disciples in a similar fashion: those who are desirable and Jesus recruited and those who aren’t as noticeable but managed to walk on. But there’s no such thing as a walk-on for Jesus’ disciples. He recruited us all — chose us — and will never change his mind about his decision to love us.
